The 1957 final between Aston Villa and Matt Busby's Manchester United. This was to be the last final appearence of the famous Busby Babes before the Munich Air Crash of February 1958.
This final will be memorable for Aston Villa fans but also for the infamous challenge of Peter McParland, the Villa forward, on the United keeper Ray Wood. In the days before substitutes United had to play on for the best part of the match with only ten men and the defender Jackie Blanchflower in goal until Wood returned late in the second half.
